use a (microsoft) scripting rumtime


Set wshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
SHORTCUT = "c:\Lotus Notes 6.5.LNK"
Set oShellLink = wshShell.CreateShortcut(SHORTCUT)
starget = oShellLink.TargetPath
MsgBox (starget)
